fetra - Fechtel Transportgeräte GmbH is taking the initiative and making a positive contribution to sustainable development. Being a company that is acutely aware of its responsibilities, fetra is actively committed to environmentally friendly production and work processes under the motto “Particularly sustainable action”. This philosophy not only ensures high product quality but simultaneously protects the environment. In addition, fetra also attaches great importance to the social aspect, with a focus on occupational health and safety, gender pay gap, job satisfaction and employee training.

Today, fetra has been awarded the EcoZert certificate by Creditreform Bielefeld at a celebratory handover. Mr Roggenbuck, General Manager at Creditform, personally travelled to Borgholzhausen to present the award. Sustainability Manager Maja Schröer and Managing Director Jochen Fechtel proudly accepted the certificate.

The EcoZert certificate honours companies that distinguish themselves through sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. It also emphasises the importance of a green future in our business world. To this end, fetra has undergone a certification process in which various questions about ESG (environment, social and governance) had to be answered and supported by evidence. These were then evaluated by Creditreform.

“EcoZert is not only a token of responsible action, but also an important step towards a more environmentally aware economy. Furthermore, as an employer, we find it important to treat every employee equally and ensure their safety,” said Managing Director Jochen Fechtel.

fetra has taken various measures in recent years to minimise its ecological footprint. “We place high priority on working in an energy and resource-efficient manner while keeping emissions as low as possible. By using the latest technologies and constantly optimising our manufacturing processes, we strive to actively contribute to environmental protection. Using recyclable materials and reducing waste are further important factors in our environmentally-focused corporate strategy,” added Jochen Fechtel.

This also entails that fetra develops its transport equipment to be durable and low-maintenance. The focus is on high-quality materials and spare parts that extend the service life of the products and enable long-term use. This not only reduces the need for new production, but also minimises waste and the associated environmental impact. By using a powder coating system, fetra promotes the use of environmentally friendly coatings and paints that are solvent-free, unlike conventional painting methods. Additionally, most fetra products are “Made in Germany”.

The supply chains are constantly optimised to minimise the carbon footprint of products. As a result, fetra uses largely regional suppliers and freight forwarders within close distance. Electric cars in the company fleet and the option of getting a job bike with charging facilities in the company car park are further steps on the road to becoming climate neutral.

Sustainability Manager Maja Schröer emphasised: “EcoZert is an endorsement of our sustainability concept and motivates us to continue finding innovative ways to make a positive contribution to the environment. Through our actions, we aim to demonstrate an awareness of sustainable business and motivate other companies to also adopt environmentally conscious paths.”
